The Theater at Woodshill's "Powles Internship in Stagecraft"
In 2024, the Theater at Woodshill hosted its first-ever paid internship in honor of our founding Resident Dramaturg, Rachael Powles. Open to CNY-based high school students and recent graduates interested in obtaining experience in professional theater, this exciting program offers aspiring theater professionals a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in the world of Shakespearean theater and gain hands-on experience in a vibrant artistic community.
This is a wonderful opportunity for you if you are:
Rising juniors, rising seniors, or recent graduates in the CNY area
Have access to transportation to and from the Theater at Woodshill (address below)
A lover of the arts interested in learning more about working in professional theater
Energetic, curious, and ready to learn
A team-player with a strong work ethic
Internship Benefits:

Intern Responsibilities:
The Powles Intern will have the opportunity to shadow key department heads at the Theater at Woodshill, ranging from our Dramaturg and Costuming departments, to Direction and Stage Management. In this capacity, the Powles Intern’s primary responsibilities will include:
Supporting department heads with everyday production tasks, ranging from taking notes, to helping coordinate costume fittings on site, to helping prepare the stage for performance
Learning, asking questions, and being present
Writing a 2-page (double spaced) report at the end of the internship, reflecting on your experience—what you learned and would love to learn more about
Internship Details:
Duration: 2025 DATES TBD
Work: 15 hours/week (weekdays during the weeks 1 and 2, weekdays + weekends during weeks 3 and 4)

Stipend: $1,000
